Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN HANOI

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, your driver and guide will meet you and they will transfer you to your hotel downtown. Check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2: CITY TOUR OF HANOI

Hanoi, located on the banks of the Red River, is one of the most ancient capitals in the world, where travelers can find well-preserved colonial buildings, ancient pagodas, and unique museums within the city center. In the morning, breakfast at the hotel. Start the city tour with Ba Dinh Square, including: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, view of the presidential palace, Uncle Ho's house-on-stilts, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university. Set menu lunch at a restaurant in the city. 

In the afternoon, Hoa Lo Prison (A add-on if you are interested in); Ethnology Museum (about Vietnamese ethnic minorities) . End the day with a water puppet show.​

DAY 3: DRIVE TO SAPA & TREK TO SA XENG

You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi early in the morning (about 7.30 AM). This morning, you will travel to Sapa on the HW Noi Bai – Lao Cai. This is the longest highway in Vietnam. The scenic drive from the Red River Delta, through the midland to Lao Cai province will be a good start for your trip. Arrive in Sapa by noon. Have lunch at a restaurant in town. After that, we will transfer to a trekking point in Sa Xéng Village, have a short stop on the way to take photo of Muong Hoa Valley. Arrive at Hau Thao, get off your vehicle and start the afternoon trek to Sả Xéng. The trek is on a small back road winding along the uneven Valley. Most of the way is gently downhill, passing several villages and views of rice terraced fields. Get picked up at the end of the trek and make your way back to Sapa town. Check in a hotel for the night. Dinner is on your own account. 

  • Approx: 7 km/ 2 hour trekking.

DAY 4: MUONG HOA VALLEY & DRIVE BACK TO HANOI

After your breakfast at the hotel, at 8:30, you get picked and transferred by the car to a trekking point to Y Ling Ho Village, Muong Hoa Valley. Muong Hoa is the biggest valley in Sapa region and bottomed by a rocky river. This is one of the most scenic trekking path in Sapa. Begin with a slope to the valley, the scenery of the rice terraces along your way is very beautiful and could be the highlight of the day. Cross the river on a small suspension bridge and continue on the trek uphill. This is rather challenging when it is wet but definitely offers you spectacular view over the valley. Finish your trek at Lao Chai Village where your private vehicle awaits you. Get on your vehicle and keep viewing Muong Hoa Valley as your drive is just follow the length of the valley. Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. The afternoon is spent to drive back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ​

DAY 5: HANOI - HALONG BAY

This morning, your drive occupies the whole morning to Halong City. Arrive at the pier around noon. Get aboard and start the cruise in between the Limestone Karst islands which feature the bay. This UNESCO's world heritage is a spectacular place to have relaxing cruise after the active time in the mountains. Lunch and Dinner on boat. Get some kayaking and swimming if the weather permits.

DAY 6: HALONG BAY - HANOI

You can wake up early for a hot coffee and enjoy sunrise with fresh air on the sun deck or you can remain in your cabin until breakfast time. The boat will have further cruise to other part of the bay and you will have time for visit a beautiful limestone cave which is decorated by hundreds of stalactites and stalagmites. Lunch is served early today on boat as you need to disembark before noon. The private 4-hour drive from the pier will bring you back to Hanoi to end the trip.

DAY 7: DEPARTURE FROM HANOI

If today is your departure day, be at leisure until the pick-up time for the airport transfer. Otherwise, this trip will be extended to other locations from Hanoi.
